Yorkshire puddings

Makes 6


  • 75ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable/sunflower oil
  • 50g flour


  • Mix the milk with the egg, beat, and leave to rest
  • Preheat the oven to 220C
  • Put a few drops of oil in each of the wells in a Yorkshire pudding tin
  • Heat the tin in the oven
  • About half an hour before you’re ready to serve, mix the flour with the milk and egg mixture and whisk
  • Divide the mixture among the wells in the tin
  • Return the tin to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes – do not open the door during this time
